Bio Cont.....

We finally ended up living in London......touring the UK. It was tough work !.but we had a lot of fun with the liberation. There is a video on you youtube entitled "Tribute to Barry Allen" with a catchy title...... 72a. This where some of the members were based above a ladies hairdresser shop,in Ballards Lane, Finchley . However by 1967 ..we'd recorded another four singles, which although being catchy songs didnt chart. We'd appeared on "Ready Steady Go"...Discs A Gogo" and in a film sequence ,contained in a "Puck Film" called "Run with the Wind" (see pics).  The group split .....and I recorded "Let it be Me"...  but it was the wrong song.......and fizzled out!  I ended up in various test engineer jobs.......to prevent starvation..ha!. Bedford became my new home which brought me into contact with a great quartet .... appearing at what was then "The Broadway Club". This foursome was run by a guy named Rudy Ammon......great Guy and lads, who I did a solo cabaret spot with each night.....which meant survival and lots of juicy steaks!  After a short time my interest turned to trying to write songs.

During the 70's I performed around the local counties as a soloist with various group support....did local BBC radio interviews along with songwriting. I appeared on the "New Faces Show" with Tony Hatch and "The Opportunity Knocks Songwriters Show" Next I met up with Peter Hawkins( Pickettywitch) & a very talented guitarist /writer John Makin. Max Milligan was also there, giving a very helpfull hand with his guitar work. Peter Hawkins/John Makin and I entered songs into "The American Song Writing Festival".......receiving honoury mentions/ credits and awards......Peter Hawkins and myself came up with a song called "WRAP ME IN LOVE".......which gained entry into the "The Yamaha World Song Festival"( You can listen to this on Myspace from the menu on this site).   It was an opportunity to appear as a soloist in Japan. On arrival back from Japan After being introduced to the very well known director Eliot Cohen,I started to co-write with Peter Yellowstone  for Joe Dolan And Kelly Marie,  In the year that followed it also gave birth to a new song ,written by myself and Peter Yellowstone, For Kelly Marie to perform at the very same festival in 1977. That was "Sentimental Kisses". She did a wonderful performance Though not making it to the final round........and so the story continues from the Tokyo visit.
